Nava (Asturias)

Written by Jessica Gonzalez

I live in Nava, it's a small village in the North of Asturias, it's a beautiful village. It's a very calm and wonderful village because Nava has 3.500 habitants.
In my village I have many places to rest and relax, because Nava has many green zones, parks, etc and you can practice jogging, horse-riding, photography and stretching your legs around the fantastic mountains.
Nava is very good comunicated with the most important cities in Asturias, you can arrive to Oviedo in 15 minutes.
When people come to my city the first monument they visit is the museum of cider. Cider is the typical drink in Asturias. In the first day of the summer you can enjoy in the "Sidra's Fest".
In that day you can eat very good food in the different restaurants in the zone. At night you can drink cider in different special bars in the central park.
I recomend to visit Asturias.

Have you ever been to Asturias?

And now, the comments!

Santiago de Compostela

Written by Nieves Otero

Santiago de Compostela

I live in Santiago de Compostela. This is a wonderful city of Galicia.
My beautiful city has two parts which are the following:
One is called “Zona vieja” because it has cobblestone streets and old buildings.
The other part is called “Zona nueva” because it has concrete streets and modern buildings.
When the people come to my city the first monument they visit is the fantastic Cathedral, in fact there is several pilgrimage routes to come here.
If you want to try the typical Galician seafood and wines I recommend you to go to any restaurant of the “ Zona vieja “, I haven’t any favorite restaurant because they are all very good.
At night I recommend you to go to the bars and disco pub of the “Zona vieja” because they are very original and pleasant.
If you want to go to the beach in Santiago you can’t because there isn´t but that is the only thing missing to be perfect.

Have you been to Galicia?
How was your experience?

And now, the comments!

Sax (Alicante)

Written by Patricia Díaz

I live in a village called Sax. It is near Alicante and, although it is a small village, I think that it is a wonderful place to live because of the calm. Here, the first thing that you have to visit is the castle because it is fantastic and the views of the village and the countryside are incredible. Also, another typical thing to see is our " Moros y Cristianos Festivals". They are celebrated in winter, from 1st to 5th of February and, although there are people who think that they can be a bit boring I think you could like them.
However, here we don't have a lot of places to go out at night, but if you prefer going out to have lunch or dinner you can choose one of the bars that you are going to find here, but I recommend you "Delitapas". This bar, as its own name says is of "tapas"and you can eat very well and it's an economic option. At night if you like going clubbing you can go to "Sunami". It is a club where you can spend a good time with your friends or meet new people and have a drink.
Well, would you like to visit Sax? So, you're invited!!

Have you ever been to Alicante?
Would you like to live in a quiet and peaceful village?

And now, the comments!

Seseña (Toledo)

Written by Alba

Since January I have lived in a village of Toledo, called Seseña.I don´t like it. Seseña is very big, but it is bad communicated now, it hasn´t a train station, and the buses only go to Madrid City. Seseña is very quiet; this is the best of Seseña because I can sleep until very late. Seseña is divided in three parts, Old Seseña, New Seseña and The Quiñon. It has an indoor pool, a sport centre, and several supermarkets and industrial estates. Seseña has a little castle, The castle of Puño en Rostro, Don´t you think it´s a funny name?. The summer in Seseña is very hot and the winter is very cold. I think Seseña isn´t a place to visit, but is an excellent place to live. It´s surrounded by smalls pine forest, I love walking in the woods collecting pine cones. The village is near Aranjuez, a city which has a very important cultural heritage, I recommend you to visit it.

What other villages in Spain have medieval castles?
Do you think castles are interesting?

Salamanca

Written by Francisco Javier Sánchez

I live in Salamanca. It´s a beautiful city. People like visiting my city because it´s a wonderful city. I recommend you to visit the Plaza Mayor in the morning. Later you can eat in Zaguán which is my favourite restaurant. I think it has fantastic food. In the evening you should go to watch the New and Old Cathedrals. At night you can go to drink a rum and coke to Garamond Pub or Cum Laude Disco, because they are two fashionable places in the city and the employees are pleasant.

Have you been to Salamanca?
If so, do you like this city?
If you haven't been to Salamanca, would you like to go?

Understanding the lyrics of a song. Last Saturday I told you about the importance of music to improve your listening and how much your fluency will improve by singing! So this is a link for a song by the Irish band Westlife. I love Ireland! And I love Irish music & singers. The present simple is the tense that is used in this song.
Listen to the song as many times as you need and then fill the gaps. When you finish you can check your answers by looking up the lyrics online. And then... start singing!
